Excess water penetration and settlement are two contributors that can cause the fill under a concrete element to settle or be washed away creating a void. In some cases the element may become at risk, potentially dangerous due to its hollowness and high risk of cracking and/or sinking. Cement grout material can be pumped under the concrete element using hydraulic pressure , this fills the void areas. This process stabilizes the element, preventing future settlement.
